From 1 July 2012, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has taken over the administration of FELS under the Energy Conservation Act.

Existing motor vehicle registrations with NEA shall remain valid until 31 December 2012. From 1 January 2013, all registrable motor vehicles shall be registered with LTA and affixed with the new fuel economy label.
